Regardless of whether the end product is for use in the automotive industry, metal coatings or outer facades and furniture: powder coatings have many uses in industry. The Hosokawa ACM air classifier mill is ideally suitable for the grinding of powder coating chips that were produced by means of mixing, extrusion and initial crushing in an upstream process.
The Mikro ACM Air Classifying Mill is the standard in the industry. The ACM efficiently reduces the particles that are produced from the upstream extruder and cooling belt / pre-crusher from ¼” to 3/8” chips to D50 of 35-40 µm and D99 of 90-100 µm.
A downstream classifier can be added for those coating applications that specify a minimum ultra-fines level, for example, 5% < 5 µm. The Mikro-ACM and downstream classifier can also be used to process coatings for thin film applications that require a D50 in the range of 18-25 µm. HCPS can process powder paint coatings with our Mikro ACM Air Classifying Mill systems in line with a cyclone. The particle size is controlled by the internal air classifier, to provide sharp particle size distributions.and we can provide downstream classification for dedusting of the milled powders.
