Activated carbon is known for its unique properties; low density with many pores and significantly high surface area, characteristics that make it a candidate for adsorption. Activated carbon is used for a wide array of environmental, industrial, chemical and medical applications. Ultra-fine particle size product is excellent for removal of pollutants from air and industrial processes.
Depending the on the application, i.e. the particle size requirements and hardness of the material, HCPS has both Air Classifier Milling Systems and Jet Milling Systems for processing this material. The ACM efficiently reduces the particles most often from a roller mill in the 100 to 300 µm size range to a D50 in the range of 25 to 75 microns. For ultra-fine particle sizes, D50 < 25 µm, and/or more abrasive activated carbons, the AFG fluidized bed jet milling system an excellent solution. The AFG jet mill system is capable of producing a D50 as low as 5 µm.
