HCPS uses Beckman Coulter LS13-320 and LS 230 analyzers for the measurement of materials in the fine particle size ranges from 0.017µm to 2000 µm. Both analyzers employ Light Scattering for the analysis of particles.
Light scattering is a common technique for measuring particle size distribution. The practice involves exposing particles to a beam of light, and analyzing the patterns of scattered light produced. The technique is fast and flexible, and also provides precise and easily adaptable measurements. Both the LS 13 320 and LS 230 instruments analyze the patterns of scattered light produced to provide precise and reproducible particle size distributions
The LS 13 320 has 3 plug-and-play modules that can run dry powder (Tornado), organic solvents, DI water, IPA (Universal Liquid Module), small volumes in IPA, other solvents (Micro Liquid Module) Both the LS13-320 and the LS230 provide rapid, reproducible analysis results and provide flexible reporting on particle size to tailor it to specific customer requirements. Both units provide highest submicron resolutions, using the Polarization Intensity Differential Scattering (PIDS) technology.
HCPS works directly with our customers to best simulate their in-house analytical procedures or can work with customers to create SOPs for their newly developed materials and applications.
