HCPS has several ways to measure particle size and insure that you products are in specification. The Mikro Air Jet Sieve is a highly versatile particle size analyzer used by hundreds of laboratories for testing thousands of materials.
The Mikro Air Jet Sieve is used to determine the particle size of dry powders ranging from as fine as 20 µm / #635 (mesh) up to 4,750 µm / #4 (mesh). It is also used to determine the average particle size below a specified cut point; for example, D90 < 50 µm or to confirm that a powder top size does not exceed product specifications.
The Mikro Air Jet Sieve can quickly determine the particle size of a powdered sample with a short series of test sieve screens. The system utilizes the pneumatic sieving principle that enhances the accuracy and reproducibility of particle size analysis. Use of this device has become a preferred method for such tasks as quality assurance of incoming raw materials, process control, and the confirmation of final product specifications. While negative pressure draws all the particles below a defined particle size down through a test sieve screen, a positive airflow is introduced upwards through a rotating wand. This airflow de-agglomerates and disperses undersized particles and carries them to the vacuum collector.
